Hart Cunningham Discusses Women’s Rights in America and Globally

The Cunningham administration has a simple and yet effective philosophy when it comes to the treatment, human rights and freedoms of women in the post-modern world.  Treat every woman you encounter with the same dignity, respect and decency that a female family member would receive. Women are our mothers, sisters, cousins and children, treating them anything short of family is inhumane. This is a simple mantra that Hart has abided by all his life. He understands that we live in a world, where society often forgets the deep intrinsic value of human life-especially women.

Hart recognizes the gender duality in today’s society. Many different people and organizations support the cause for women, however they maintain a male-centric and patriarchal perspective on business and in life. Many of us in America often form opinions based on appearance, and attractiveness. So much to the point that we overlook the virtuous and exchange it for the superficial.  Hart Cunningham’s perspective is different and during his presidency- he will hold people, nations and organizations accountable for their deeds against women. Hart Cunningham will show the nation and the world, that indifference to women’s social suffering is as wretched as being complicit.

The Legal Challenges Ahead

The significant strides to bring gender equality and social protection to women, is simply is not enough to bridge the vast gaps that still exist today. America has unfinished business in matters of constitutional rights for women; The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)* is still only ratified by 36 states, holding back the the bill from being fully ratified federally. The ERA bill still awaits only 3 more states to approve it, so that equality for women really is in the Constitution.

The Equal Rights Amendment would provide a fundamental legal remedy against sex discrimination for both women and men. It would guarantee that the rights affirmed by the U.S. Constitution are held equally by all citizens without regard to their sex.

The ERA would clarify the legal status of sex discrimination for the courts, where decisions still deal inconsistently with such claims. For the first time, sex would be considered a suspect classification, as race currently is. Governmental actions that treat males or females differently as a class would be subject to strict judicial scrutiny and would thus have to meet the highest level of justification – a necessary relation to a compelling state interest – to be upheld as constitutional.

To actual or potential offenders who would try to write, enforce, or adjudicate laws inequitably, the ERA would send a strong preemptive message: the Constitution has zero tolerance for sex discrimination under the law.

Equality is Also a Global Issue for Hart Cunningham

Hart Cunningham realizes the dangers involved in being a woman in the modern world. He reads daily articles about archaic customs like child marriages in Bihar, India, to sexual violence and rape in American colleges and universities, to the horrible cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) occurring in Horn of Africa. He is aware of what is happening globally to women and empathizes with their plight. His administration will work tirelessly to end these problems globally, by first making it a national talking point and then coupling with enforcement decrees by means of U.N. global resolutions. Hart will rally and champion reproductive rights for women across America. This will empower women to pick and choose, how and when, they want to start their family.

Hart Cunningham Will Fight for Women’s Empowerment

His administration will also bridge the wage gap by introducing federal legislation that will make it mandatory for all businesses to pay all federally recognized genders: the same amount in salary, for the same work. Hart also believes that women should have the freedom to engage in armed conflict in combat oriented jobs within the military. Female warfighters should not be ostracized, deterred or discriminated against by her male counterparts or by Department of Defense policies.

Women have an uphill fight for equality and freedom. Hart Cunningham is not only an advocate for women and their right of being, he is also totally committed to making the issues listed a matter of national policy. Hart Cunningham will fight for empowerment as an important agenda for all women’s rights.
